Client Onboarding - Simplified

Client Onboarding - Simplified

I am in Orlando, Florida today for a Mastermind retreat. I've never done anything like this, and it is exhilarating, to say the least. We just flew in, tonight's going to be the first night that we all meet, and I'm way excited!!! I was going to go live from the pool, but the wifi there was terrible. That's why I'm still in my suit because I was out there testing this out, but unfortunately, the wifi there is just not strong enough for me to share this with you guys. Today, we're talking about client onboarding, and I really want to go into discomfort in client onboarding, and share why these two things are so tied together, and really, this is why your income is stuck.

I have a business coach who is absolutely wonderful, and she pushes me consistently to step out of my comfort zone, and today we were looking at the past month, March, and I didn't meet my goals. I didn't meet my sales goals, and really, we had some friction. I had some friction with my coach, and she pissed me off. She pissed me off because she essentially said to me,

"You're not uncomfortable enough."

And being the ambitious, driven woman that I am, I'm like, "What the fuck are you talking about I'm not uncomfortable enough?"

But the truth is, she's right. I'm not uncomfortable enough. I'm doing things that feel safe, that feel normal. Maybe tweaking a little bit here, a little bit there, but I'm not actually terrified, and I think ... I know that sounds like such a strong word, but I truly do believe that when you get so uncomfortable, and you start doing something so different, and you really get uncomfortable, that's when that next level unlocks for you in your life and your business.

My journal prompt tonight is, “what is it that terrifies me?” I've been trying to journal every single night. If you want to be journaling buddies, that would be great. And one thing I noticed, I was trying to do this thing where I was reading every night. I was reading, reading, reading, and it wasn't working. I would try to read, and I would get distracted, and it just wasn't happening for me, so one night, I picked up my journal, I hadn't journaled in years. I picked up my journal, I picked up my pen, and I just went. And it was literally, I physically felt weight lifted off of me.

  • You may have hit 4K months, 5K months, 6, 7, maybe even 8K, but you can't seem to push past and meet consistently those 10K months that you want.

  • If you have no systems whatsoever for onboarding clients.

  • If you have systems, but they suck, and things regularly fall through the cracks, and it causes you issues, tensions, disconnect, and mistrust with your clients. Or it causes you issues down the road. I.E, unhappy, grumpy, dissatisfied clients. Nobody wants those.

That is what happens when we don't have the right systems in place. And it all starts with the onboarding. That's the point I'm trying to make with this message today, this training today, is it starts with the onboarding, and if you're feeling stuck, it starts with the very first point in which people really begin to interact with your business.

Do you see how that could be self-sabotaging? And how that discomfort there of, "I don't like this." Or, "I know I don't have the right systems in place." Or, "My systems super suck and I know it." That is a self-sabotaging thing that's going on within your business that's holding you back from making that consistent income because when you have systems that you're confident in, that you love, where you can, like my clients in my automated systems program, they're able to literally onboard clients with a single click, and the client has everything they need to get started and start working with them.

How would you show up differently if your onboarding system was like that?

If it felt so good, you know that within one single click, your client had literally everything they needed to get started working with you, and all you had to do was show up and do the work.

My point in saying this is that the right systems really are going to make or break your client success because from the very first point of contact with your business, the tone is set. So when you have the right systems in place, you're able to show up differently, whether that is in a manual manner or it's an automated interaction, whether they're interacting with a chat bot or interacting with you.

When people come in contact with your business, they should honestly feel like they've just walked into the virtual Chick Fil A. Okay? I don't know how many of you have Chick Fil A's near you, if you don't, I feel sad for you, very much so, but Chick Fil A, they're known for having the best customer service, and the same should go for your business. I know that you're trying your best, but you are a CEO, so that being said, you've got to think like one, and allowing things to slip through the cracks, missing meetings, not showing up for your audience 110%, 225% of the time is unacceptable. It's unacceptable.

Clients within my one-on-one program for automated systems, are able to onboard clients in a single click, and the reason why I do that is because it was something that was life changing for me, and I've seen it replicated time and time again, and how it's life changing for them. Honestly, I had one client recently say to me, like, "That's it? They're good?" I'm like, "Yeah. They're ready to go. All you have to do is show up to your intro meeting on time." How awesome is that? Invoice paid, agreement signed, intro meeting booked. How beautiful? How wonderful is that?

What questions do you have about your systems, about automation, about onboarding, clients?

If you are overwhelmed to the absolute maximum and you're missing out on life because of your business. If you are swamped in client work and you're still not making what you want to be making. If you feel like your business is more of a job or a hobby than your actual business because of how much you're putting in. If you have a community that loves and adores you, and you know you need to monetize that existing community, but you're not exactly sure how, or you're interested in offering digital products and courses. If, like I said earlier, you're showing up as less than 100% because you're so frazzled and you're missing meetings, and you're working in your business and not on it. And a big one I've seen recently is if you're neglecting your email list. That's a big red flag. We all know how important our email lists are.

So if that's you, and you really feel like you're ready to do the damn thing, you're ready to meet and beat 10K months consistently, but you don't want to add more shit to your plate, then let's talk. When you work with me one-on-one, I'm so hands on and knee deep in your business that I can only bring in a very small handful of clients at once. I currently have space for two, and once those two spots fill up, you guys, I'm booked until August.

My automated systems program is not for women who are just starting out in business or are thinking, "Oh, maybe I want to start a business, but I am not sure exactly where to start." This is not the program for you. This is for the woman who's got clients up to her neck, a community that is borderline obsessed with her, and who probably thinks she needs a VA. If you're thinking to yourself, "Maybe I just need a virtual assistant. That'll help me." But there's no way in hell you can possibly bother taking the time to onboard, and train, and delegate. You're right, you don't have the time to do that. And in fact, delegating, long-term, is far more expensive and not as cost effective as automation. I mean, 47% of the American workforce is estimated to be automated by 2030! Your business should fall in line with that.
